Student Support
All staff at St. Anthony’s have an important pastoral care and pupil support role. The following staff have specific responsibilities:
- Mrs Burns (Deputy Head Teacher) works with our Chaplains, Sr. M Francis and Sr. M Adrienne, in the field of liturgy and spiritual development. They offer pastoral support and guidance in association with the clergy of the various feeder parishes and all the school staff.
- Mrs M Burns has responsibility for inclusion. She works extensively with Pastoral Leaders and the SENCo to ensure an inclusive approach is adopted throughout the school.
- Mrs M Burns monitors attendance and behaviour issues in conjunction with Pastoral Leaders, the Inclusion Officer and the Pupil Support Team.
- Mrs M Burns is the designated person for Child Protection issues.
- Mrs M Burns is the designated person for Looked After Children.
- Pastoral Leaders lead teams of tutors who offer pastoral support and monitor pupil progress.
Miss A Summerside (KS3) and Miss T Wilson (KS4), SENCo works with Mrs M Burns and a team of Teaching Assistants to support pupil progress.
- External Agencies eg. Hearing Support, the psychological Service, Speech Therapy, School Nurse Service etc continues to offer specialist support.
- Mrs K Oliver is our school nurse. Staff trained in First Aid are on call throughout the day.
- Ms Jackson and Mrs Purdy work in the Learning Resources centre which is open from 8.30am – 4.30pm each school day (closed 4.00pm on Fridays).
